MLS All-Star Game 2026 heads to Charlotte, North Carolina

Charlotte will host the 2026 MLS All-Star Game, staging the league’s 30th edition at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Major League Soccer confirmed the announcement on July 16, 2025, marking the first time Charlotte FC will welcome the league’s midseason showcase.

The All-Star festivities will span an entire week, including the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge, the MLS NEXT All-Star Match, and the MLS All-Star Soccer Celebration, with community-centred programming across venues throughout Charlotte.

Since joining MLS in 2022, Charlotte FC has rapidly expanded its fan base, setting a league attendance record at its inaugural home opener with 74,479 fans and consistently ranking among the top two clubs for average attendance, drawing more than 34,000 fans per match. Bank of America Stadium has also hosted major international fixtures such as Copa América and the FIFA Club World Cup.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber called Charlotte a “big-time soccer city” and praised the energy of its fans. Club owner David Tepper highlighted the city’s rising global profile as a premier host for major soccer events. North Carolina Governor Josh Stein also welcomed the news, noting Charlotte’s appeal as a place to live, work, and visit. The match date and All-Star opponent will be announced at a later time.

Beyond the match, visitors can explore Charlotte’s cultural and entertainment attractions. Uptown features the Mint Museum Uptown, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Outdoor highlights include the U.S. National Whitewater Center and nearby Lake Norman in Huntersville, offering boating, trails, and waterfront dining.
