Event Details

The Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon is a major road race event held in Belgium, with a marathon, a half marathon, a 7 km race, and a 1 km kids fun run. The event starts in Place De Brouckère, loops through central Brussels, and finishes on Place des Palais, right in the city’s historic core.

The certified route highlights iconic city landmarks, including the Basilica of Koekelberg, the Atomium, and Cinquantenaire Park, offering cultural immersion alongside athletic challenge. Marathon runners also experience a unique segment running through the Annie Cordy Tunnel, and the full race includes a final lap inside King Baudouin Stadium.

Participants benefit from chip timing, hydration and nutrition stations, pacers, bib pick-up and expo, medical support, and public transport access on race day. The organization delivers efficient logistics for all distances. In recent editions, nearly half of the participants came from outside Belgium, underscoring its appeal to international runners.

As a running tourism destination, Brussels combines performance with sightseeing. Visitors can explore the Grand-Place, the architecture of the EU district, and charming neighbourhoods like Ixelles and Zurenborg. The city’s tram and metro system enables easy access to cultural highlights such as the Royal Museums and parks, making the marathon trip both competitive and cultural.
