Event Details

The JTBC Seoul Marathon is a premier city marathon and 10K event hosted in South Korea. Organized by JTBC and AIMS-certified, the event is known for its efficient logistics and urban route profile.

Starting in World Cup Park (Mapo-gu), the course travels through central Seoul streets—spanning Korea’s vibrant history and modern development—across three bridges over the Han River and through iconic districts including Gwanghwamun, Dongdaemun, and landmarks like Deoksugung Palace. The race ends at Seoul Olympic Park, offering one of the most scenic city-to-river marathon finishes in Asia.

With a flat profile and wide roads, the marathon is designed for fast running and elite and recreational participants alike. Support services include chip timing, hydration and nutrition stations, pacers, medical aid, bag drop, and post-race meals. Entry gifts include finisher medals and branded apparel.

As a running tourism destination, Seoul offers rich cultural immersion—near the start at Mapo’s modern media zone and the finish at Olympic Park. Runners can easily pivot to sightseeing spots like Gwanghwamun Square, historic Bukchon Hanok Village, the Palace District, and waterfront promenades along the Han River. Efficient subway access and compact neighbourhoods support a top-tier race experience combined with city exploration.
