Zagreb Marathon, Half and 10K

The Zagreb Marathon Festival in Croatia features a marathon, half marathon, and Garmin 10K—all starting and finishing at Ban Josip Jelačić Square in the city center. The marathon course includes two loops, while the half marathon completes one, following a nearly flat east–west loop along wide avenues toward Dubrava and Črnomerec. Its minimal elevation gain and straight sections make it one of the fastest certified road races in Europe, managed with chip timing, pacers, hydration stations, post-race meals, medals, and massage.

For runners interested in travel destinations, the route traverses central Zagreb streets with enthusiastic local support and live entertainment. The event weekend includes kids’ fun runs and a pasta party.

After racing, visitors can easily explore Zagreb’s cultural core: wander through the historic Old Town, visit landmarks like Zagreb Cathedral and the Museum of Broken Relationships, or stroll parks such as Maksimir and Jarun. The capital’s cafés, museums, and riverbank promenades make this race ideal for combining athletic performance with urban sightseeing.
